Single Women Alone Together

'And don't be wishing you were someplace else or with someone else. Where you are right now is God's place for you. Live and obey and love and believe right there. God, not your marital status, defines your life.' 1 Corinthians 7 v 17 The Message

Beauty

I've just seen a beautiful picture painted by my gorgeous friend Rita.

Check it out - it's called "gold flowers in pink."

I'm reading Captivating the heart of a women's soul by Staci and John Eldridge at the moment and learning about what we were created for as women.

I'm realising that we are called to be beautiful and create beauty - which brings life and hope to others, something which can not be measured but is of great value ... don't believe that you haven't a role to play, we all do ... can you see the pain, the brokeness, the lonliness, the dirt?

I've been going through a hard time recently - not feeling useful or wanted but we are, we are more than useful and more than wanted, we are specially made and chosen.

That painting is beautiful. I've been planning to take painting lessons for quite some time now; I hope it works out this summer.

I've been oppressed with a feeling of being useless and unwanted myself...I think it's simultaneously symptomatic of a culture that, beneath its parade of apparent women's rights, is more misogynistic than ever, to the extent that women who live the way they're supposed to feel shunted aside because they're not letting themselves be objectified; and a way for our spiritual enemies to push us toward despair.

But Christ became incarnate to redeem all the pain, loneliness and dirt, and brought us into his family so that we can work with him to draw the beauty out of the brokenness.

Which is to say, Christ has always seen the beauty in you.

sarah - how true...in him, we are able to discover the truth....which sets us free and gives us life in all its fullness. God has been working in my heart over the last week and I think that he has used my honesty to start bringing healing and hope. thank you for responding to my post and reminding me again that i am not alone and that through the valleys we will find him. Have you heard of Lex Buckley's song - through the valley?
